Deb Covert became a travel agent in 1973, starting her career as a reservations-agent for Travel and Transport. She had worked her way up to assistant manager at their Council Bluffs location when she was recruited by Brandeis Travel to manage their downtown Omaha office in 1977. Deb left Brandeis Travel in 1979 to become the manager of an established agency with new owners, Bock & Co. Travel where she met her future husband, owner Mark Covert. She became a Certified Travel Counsellor that same year in the very first CTC training class in the Omaha area.
After selling Bock & Co, Deb worked as a sales agent for several tour, hotel and car companies including American Express. But working with actual travellers was more exciting and fulfilling so she joined Travel Faire, one of the top agencies in Omaha, working in their group department as an organizer and travel escort to groups from 20 to 500. In 2000, she decided to again become her own boss and opened Deb Covert Travel as an Independent Agent and works through a host-agency, currently Pegasus/American Express Travel.
Deb specializes in upscale travel to all parts of the world but loves to plan Foreign Independent Travel to Europe for a party of two up to small groups of 40. During her 43 years in the travel business, Deb has traveled all over the world but her love of France, Italy, Ireland and the United Kingdom means that she visits them over and over again.
